**Job Summary:**
The Assistant Parts Manager will support the Parts Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the parts department. This individual will be responsible for assisting with inventory management, sales support, customer service, and ensuring that our parts department runs efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate should have a strong automotive background, outstanding organizational skills, and a knack for customer service.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist the Parts Manager in managing all aspects of the parts department, including inventory control, ordering, and distribution of parts.
- Ensure that all parts are organized, labeled, and stored in an accessible manner.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering inquiries, identifying parts, and processing orders in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records and conducting regular audits to minimize discrepancies.
- Help promote part sales through various strategies, including sales incentives, promotions, and customer outreach.
- Train and supervise parts department staff, ensuring they understand company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with service technicians and advisors to ensure prompt availability of required parts.
- Resolve customer issues and complaints in a courteous and effective manner.
- Assist in the implementation of proper safety and security procedures in the parts department.
- Stay updated on industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive pricing to enhance departmental performance.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional automotive training or certification is a plus.
- Previous experience in a parts department or automotive retail environment preferred.
- Strong knowledge of automotive parts and systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer systems and automotive parts software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
